Seminar on Human and Women Rights at AKES Breshgram
organized by Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Chitral

International Donors visited very remote and backward
areas of Chitral more fund for uplifting life standard
expected.
CHITRAL: Foreign Donors visited the most remote, non
accessible and backward area of Breshgram Karimabad
valley where they were briefed about the lack of civic
facilities in a workshop at Aga Khan Community Based
Higher Secondary School (AKCBHSS) Breshgram by male
and female participants in their presentation. Easy &
Equitable Access to Justice Program for Women of
Chitral (EEAJP) funded by TROCAIRE in collaboration
with Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights (LAFH) arranged
a one day workshop on human rights at AKCBHSS
Breshgram. Mr. Paul Braitnwaite, Pakistan Program
Office of TROCAIRE (Ireland) Miss Gulcheen Regional
Gender Officer, Miss Sarah M.Cann Gender Officer
Ireland Based, Miss Deirdre Ni Cheallaigh Gender
Officer Ireland based, Niaz Ali Shah Project
Coordinator, Niaz A Niazi President of LAFH Syed Akram
Shah Vice Chairperson Board of Director, Shokoor
Muhammad president Board of Governors and other spoke
on the occasion. The program was started with the
recitation from the Holy Quran. Miss Hasna read Hamd
Sharif, Niaz A Niazi welcome to distinguished guests
and briefed about LAFH.
Niaz Ali Shah project Coordinator given the task to
different male and female participants for group
working and presentation on Child rights and women
rights. Rashida Bebi a School Teacher of AKES
rhetorically delivered her presentation on women
rights. She also highlighted women rights and its
different aspects. Mrs. Zaiba Principal of a private
school also given her presentation on child rights and
emphasized on participants especially mother to
equally treat their children without any
discrimination in male and female. She said women folk
are confronting with so many problems in this male
dominant society. She said female are considering a
symbol of weakness even some mother abortion during
pregnancy if they knew if the baby is a female. She
said girls of this area are often deprived from
education due to no facilities by government.
Addressing to the seminar Mr. Paul said that we are
working for human rights all humanity having equal
rights. This is just start and implementation of human
rights in contents of local society will take long
time. Hence we support such organization who
protecting rights of other. Miss Sara said that
knowledge about something is must and awareness
minimizes our problems. Irish lady said that we can
nothing without awareness.
She expressed her great pleasure over opening of two
Free Legal Aid Centers at Booni and Chitral by this
project to support oppressed women of the area. She
said protecting human rights no need of buildings but
volunteer people. She also hailed services of LAFH and
said that hopefully it will carry equality in men and
women rights but it is a long journey and will take
long time she added. Miss Gulcheen also expressed her
views on the occasion. She stressed upon the women
folk to must get higher education which is the only
stair for our development. She said our destination is
so high as sky and we should to continue our struggle
for standardizing of our life. And we also should to
fight for those helpless women who can not raise voice
for their rights. Miss Deirdre Ni Cheallaigh said
while addressing the seminar that we must to respect
rights of each other. She said that the only to
maintain peace in the world is respecting of human
rights and in case of violation of human rights the
world peace will be disturbed badly. Shakoor Muhammad
former UC Nazim said that 50% girls are drop outing
after passing their middle or matriculation due to
lack of educational institutions in this backward
area. And existing schools are in very dilapidated
conditions which need attention of the authority. He
demanded for uplifting of the area provision of
computers in schools of the area. A large number of
male, female of the area participated the seminar.
Meanwhile trained but Jobless PST male and female
announced for continue hunger strike until their death
or fulfilling their demands. These male and female
youth are setting for the last 2 months in a token
hunger strike from 6 to 12 hours a day hence they
call for continue Hunger strike on Wednesday until
their death. Provincial Minister for Population
welfare Saleem Khan Chitrali also visited the hunger
strike camp and assured them of his full support. It
is worth to mention here that some 150 male and female
youths have been completed their Primary School
Teaching (PST) course and they demanding for
recruitments of PST in education department on
session/batch wise policy. As to adjust senior persons
before exceeding the maximum limit of their age.
